Visa services for applications are available from  Monday to Friday, except HOLIDAYS.

9h - 12h: travel agencies and visa services

12h - 13h: collection of visas by individuals (all types)

 

HOW TO APPLY IN PERSON
(VISA APPLICANT)
Effective November 9, 2009, the on-line
"Recibo de Entrega de Requerimento - RER" became a requirement for applicants for visas. 
Please access the following web address for your on-line application:
https://scedv.serpro.gov.br/frscedv/index.jsp
After completing data entry, please print and sign this form and attach a PHOTOGRAPH SPECIFICATIONS to submit together with :

  • Your original passport, that must be valid for at least 6(six) months and have at least one page blank;
  • Other necessary documents (by purpose of trip) upon visa application at the Consulate;
  • Copy of the Japan Alien Registration or/and valid visa;
  • Visa fees: payment must be made in cash at the Banco do Brasil;

Attention

USA citizens must come in person to apply for visas, on a reciprocity basis.

The best way to get to the Consulate is through JR’s Yamanote Line > Gotanda Station (East Exit – Higashi), or the Toei Asakusa Line > Gotanda Station (Exit No. A5).

When leaving Gotanda’s JR Station, use the pedestrian crossing. The building where the Consulate is located is over a shop named “The Suit Aoyama”(written on a billboard in blue). A Brazilian flag can be seen on the window of the second floor.

 

 

 Processing Time

5 working days

In times of heavy workload, the processing time may be extended. 

Do not commit yourself to travel plans until you know when your visa will be issued.

For more than 10 visas a longer processing time may be required.
