HOW TO APPLY IN PERSON

Effective November 9, 2009, the on-line
"Recibo de Entrega de Requerimento - RER" became a requirement for applicants for visas.
Please access the following web address for your on-line application:
https://scedv.serpro.gov.br/frscedv/index.jsp
After completing data entry, please print and sign this form and attach a PHOTOGRAPH SPECIFICATIONS to submit together with :

Your original passport, that must be valid for at least 6(six) months and have at least one page blank;
Other necessary documents (by purpose of trip) upon visa application at the Consulate;
Copy of the Japan Alien Registration or/and valid visa;
Visa fees: payment must be made in cash at the counter of “Banco do Brasil” situated at the premises of the Consulate;

Attention

USA citizens must come in person to apply for visas, on a reciprocity basis.

The best way to get to the Consulate is through JR’s Yamanote Line > Gotanda Station (East Exit – Higashi), or the Toei Asakusa Line > Gotanda Station (Exit No. A5).

When leaving Gotanda’s JR Station, use the pedestrian crossing. The building where the Consulate is located is over a shop named “The Suit Aoyama”(written on a billboard in blue). A Brazilian flag can be seen on the window of the second floor.
