VISA - NON JAPANESE - TOURISM - GENERAL REQUIREMENTS – VITUR

Who is eligible:

  • Strictly for Tourism;
  • In Transit to Another Country;
  • Seminars or Conferences;
  • Sports Competitions;
  • Art Contests.

VERY IMPORTANT

The Consulate General of Brazil in Tokyo does not accept visa applications by mail!

The Consular Service will process visa applications for TOURIST VISAS submitted by individuals who are not residents within the jurisdiction only if applicant comes in person to the Consulate.

The Consulate General of Brazil in Tokyo does not process same day visas (no rush fee!). The processing time is up to 07 (seven) working days. Please plan accordingly!

Tourist Visas must be used within 90 days from the date they are issued or they become void.

Tourist Visas are good for multiple entries for the duration of the visa;

All Tourist Visa holders may only stay in Brazil for up to 90 days, regardless of nationality or the length of time that the Visa is given for. The Federal Police in Brazil may extend this 90-day period, yet stays in Brazil may not exceed 180 days per year under any circumstance;

Visas are activated on the date of the first entry in Brazil. Make sure that the Immigration Office stamps your passport at entry.
To apply for a visa, please pay close attention to the information below!

In order to process your application for a tourist you must present the following all at once:

Your passport, must be valid for at least 6 (six) months from the intended arrival date in Brazil (at least one whole blank page);

One Visa Application Form, filled out, dated and signed by the applicant (parents must sign for minors under 18 years old);

One recent (5 x 7cm) photo, front view, white background. Snapshots or computer pictures are not acceptable;

A copy of the "e-ticket" (containing passenger name; ticket number; airline name; flight number; date and city of arrival in Brazil; airport name; date of departure from Brazil; ticket price) ;

Non Japan Citizens must ALSO present:
A copy of the Japan Alien Resident Card for foreign residents (Gaikokujin Touroku-Shomei ) and/or a valid visa, or document to return from Brazil to Japan or other country;

CHILDREN UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE, CRUISE SHIP PASSENGERS AND AMATEUR ATHLETES MUST PROVIDE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.

VISA FEES:
 Payment must be made in cash, at the counter of the “Banco do Brasil”, situated at the premises of the Brazilian Consulate General in Tokyo.
 
Holders of the following passports are exempt
from the visa fee, but must pay a processing fee:
U.S.A. – ¥ 18.200 (for reciprocity purposes);
U.K.    -  ¥ 21.700 (180 days or longer stays);
U.A.E. -  ¥ 10.500

Japan - ¥ 3.500;
Australia – ¥ 4.900;
Canada - ¥ 9.100;
Nigeria – ¥ 5.600;
Mexico -  ¥ 4.200;
Russia -  ¥ 7.000
Other countries - ¥ 2.800
An additional absent fee of ¥ 1.400  will be charged for any application not submitted in person by the applicant or by his/her immediate family.
