JOURNALISTS VISA - VITEM VI

Who is eligible:

  • media correspondents.

Important: Visitors should register at DPF's Office (the Federal Police) up to 30(thirty) days after arrival.

Requirements

  • please submit to the Consulate the following documents:

    • two visa application forms, filled out, dated and signed by the applicant;

    • notarized letter by sponsoring organization, on its letterhead stationary, with specific information on the activity to be performed, location and duration of the contract and also stating that the applicant will not be paid by any source in Brazil. The Consulate will legalize the signature of the notary public. ¥2.800 fee will be charged.

  • once the Ministry of External Relations authorizes the Visa, the following additional documents must be submitted to the Consulate:

    • a passport valid for a minimum of six months from the date of intended arrival in Brazil, with at least two blank pages available;

    • a copy of the Japan Alien Resident Card (Gaikokujin Touroku-Shomei ) for foreign residents and/or a valid visa or document to return from Brazil (to Japan or another country);

    • two recent 5 x 7cm photos, front view, white background. Snapshots and computer pictures are not accepted;

    • police clearance issued within the last 3 months, certifying absence of criminal record, legalized by the Consulate. A fee of ¥2.800 will be charged;

    • a copy of a round-trip ticket or a booked itinerary showing travel to and from Brazil, confirming purchase of the ticket and passenger’s name, itinerary, flight number and arrival/departure dates.

The Consulate may request additional information or documentation, as deemed necessary.
