Working Hours:

Visa services for applications are available from 9:00am to 1:00pm, Monday to Friday, except Holidays.

The Consulate-General of Brazil in Tokyo does not accept visa applications by mail, and does not process same day visas. Please plan accordingly (see here for processing time).

Jurisdiction:

The Consulate General in Tokyo has responsibility over the Provinces of Akita, Aomori, Chiba, Fukushima, Gunma, Hokkaido, Ibaraki, Iwate, Kanagawa, Miyagi, Nagano, Niigata, Saitama, Tochigi, Tokyo, Yamagata and Yamanashi.

Residents from other Provinces should address the CONSULATE-GENERAL IN NAGOYA or the CONSULATE-GENERAL IN HAMAMATSU.

HOW TO APPLY IN PERSON

Effective November 9, 2009, the on-line
"Recibo de Entrega de Requerimento - RER" became a requirement for applicants for visas.

After completing data entry, please print and sign this form and attach a photo to submit together with :

  • Your original passport, that must be valid for at least 6(six) months and have at least one page blank;
  • Other necessary documents (by purpose of trip) upon visa application at the Consulate;
  • Copy of the Japan Alien Registration or/and valid visa;
  • Visa fees: payment must be made in cash at the counter of “Banco do Brasil” situated at the premises of the Consulate;

The best way to get to the Consulate is through JR’s Yamanote Line > Gotanda Station (East Exit – Higashi), or the Toei Asakusa Line > Gotanda Station (Exit No. A5).

When leaving Gotanda’s JR Station, use the pedestrian crossing. The building where the Consulate is located is over a shop named “The Suit Aoyama”(written on a billboard in blue). A Brazilian flag can be seen on the window of the second floor.
